FINE CITY FOOD ✖︎

DOCUMENTING THE CRAFT, GRIT, AND OBSESSION OF NORWICH’S BEST KITCHENS.

The Team

Hey, we’re Marcus and Christina!

We’re a filmmaker and photographer duo with a decade of experience shooting fashion, art, and live music events. We recently relocated to Norwich and instantly fell in love with the city's fiercely independent food scene.

We launched Fine City Food to combine our camera skills with our love of food - capturing the craft, energy, and the human stories behind Norwich’s best cafés, bars, and restaurants.

Having both worked in hospitality ourselves, we know exactly how much blood, sweat, and tears goes into running these spaces, and we’re here to give it the cinematic spotlight it deserves.

The Concept

Independent hospitality is a brutal game right now.

The rising margins, the endless prep hours, and the intense pressure behind the kitchen doors are rarely seen by the people sitting at the tables.

Fine City Food is a new, video-first media platform changing how Norwich's food scene is documented. We aren't here to write generic reviews or play the part of lifestyle influencers. We are here to capture the raw energy, the craft, and the absolute obsession it takes to run an independent kitchen today.

We are launching our first series by profiling six curated, independent venues across the city. Using high-end cinema rigs and our signature fast-paced, character-driven editing style, we create premium mini-documentaries that place the creators - the chefs, the bakers, the makers - at the very center of the frame.

Take a look at this video by Topjaw to understand the exact style, energy, and cinematic rhythm we're bringing to your kitchen.

The process

Let’s be real - bringing a camera crew into a restaurant is always a bit disruptive.

We’re going to be in your space, tracking your movements, and chatting with you while you cook to capture those perfect, high-energy shots.

But we keep the process structured, collaborative, and entirely focused on your story. The shoot splits into four easy parts:

1. The Story & Space (15 Mins):

We start out of the heat of the kitchen. We'll sit down for a quick, casual chat to get the history and the human story behind the venue. If the space has a unique vibe, incredible decor, or a historic building, you'll show us around so we can capture the character of the room.

2. The Kitchen Grind (25 Mins):

Then, we head into the action. We'll mic up the chef during a morning prep shift or a quiet window before service. We'll shoot raw, high-contrast, cinematic footage of the fire, the prep, and the plating, chatting about the process and the obsession behind the dishes while the food is actually being made.

3. The Signature Dish (10 Mins):

If you're up for it, we want to try the food. You pick a signature dish that represents the absolute best of what you do, and we’ll dig in on camera to give our audience an authentic, raw reaction to your flavors.

Because we film during prep shifts, we leave the timing of this entirely up to the kitchen team to fire up whenever it naturally fits their workflow.

4. The Final Approval:

We take that raw energy back to the edit suite, cutting it into a hyper-polished, short-form feature layered with heavy beats, crisp kitchen sound design, and your story at the center. Before anything goes live on Fine City Food, we send you the cut first to ensure you're completely happy with how the team and the venue look.
